Go ahead, choose…

Life with the babies can be difficult at times, and that’s ok. Every day is different and some are better than others. Let’s start with this: you are doing the best you can. We all have days where we wish we could be more, do better and just be…well, MORE for our babies. It may feel like you are in a season of just constantly feeling like you can’t get it together. Maybe you feel like you have barely gotten out of being pregnant and now must be a mom to this little person. OR, you have multiple little ones to look after and you just want to put a MUTE of the symphony of crying-even if it’s yours.

I’m here to tell you this-today is your day. Today is the day you can choose joy in the tiniest thing and hold onto it.

Was there any point in the day where there was silence, one minute, 5 or 30? Hold on to that. Somewhere in the day were both kids decent to each other? They did not hit or fight or even ate their lunch well? Hold on to that. Did your family share a moment of laughter? Or did your newborn smile at you for the first time? Celebrate the win!

Do something small for yourself, are you still upset you can’t get to Starbucks but once in a blue moon-learn to make your favorite drink at home yourself-buy a Starbucks cup if you need to! Put on some mascara and a cute shirt you like, if it gets spit up on-it will wash out. Put on some of your favorite music and dance with your babies to get them to stop fussing. Throw a party for yourself if you got through one load of laundry.  When your spouse gets home have them take the kids for 30 minutes so you can breathe. Take a walk, escape to Starbucks  if you can. Do something to remind yourself of yourself, Choose the good in every day and you will soon start to see every day as a good one.

Romans 5:13 says 13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

You can do this, you can raise your children, you can make it through the day and you can find joy in it. I promise.
